7 street food spots that will blow your mind

Today I would like to tell you about some of my favorite places to eat. When I thought about food trucks, I used to think about summer, towns at the coast of Baltic Sea, holidays with my parents and that touristic trucks, where you can buy ice-creams, cotton candy, waffles… But after I started study in Kraków, a meaning of that word changed totally.

One of my favorite ways to spend a good day is to find a new place to eat something different. Because of it I really love street food. It doesn’t matter if it’s food truck, little restaurant or shed at the square. I just call it all street food. So below you have my favorite one’s in Kraków.

1.Chimney Cake Bakery

Let’s start with something sweet. Chimney cakes, well-known in Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic etc., are the best things to make you smile. It’s made from sweet dough, of which a strip is spun and then wrapped around a baking spit and rolled in granulated sugar. These one’s from Kraków additionally have surprises inside, like Nutella and nuts or white chocolate and almonds. At summer you can eat them with ice-creams inside. Heaven in your mouth. Ask about discounts for students. Where you can find them? On Basztowa 26A and Wawrzyńca 16 (Judah Square).

2. Suto Handroll

Pretty new place,  which I discover this summer because of my friend (who is in love in sushi at any shape). They sell delicious little sushi wraps. Homemade sauces and a lot of different combinations should convince you :)  I have been there only ONCE, but already I felt in love. My plan is to take there my dad, unexpected lover of sushi. You should go there also – find them on Szczepańska 3 or plac Nowy 4b!

3. Dim Sum House – Parobar

Dim Sum dumplings, near AGH University, are perfect for dinner. Served in special bamboo boxes, with meat, fish or vegetable – all are awesome. Besides, they have desserts and drinks, of course. Small place but big flavor :) Adress? Czarnowiejska 57.

4.   Kumpir

To eat tasteful and big potato with … anything inside that you dream about, you have few places in Kraków. First of all, there are two brands (that I know), which sell Kumpir. There is Pan Kumpir onJudah Square (Wawrzyńca 16) or Krakowski Kumpir at Hala Targowa (Grzegórzecka 3) and also near AGH University (Lea 18/3). I have tried both with my sister and we prefer Krakowski Kumpir, without any good reason. Go and try! But maybe with some friend, because it is SO BIG that it’s hard to eat alone…

5. Tak Yak Tandoori

Little bistro, where they serve Indian dishes made in Tandoor oven. I have never eaten more delicious, soft and delicate chicken... Sometimes it’s hard to find there a place and you have to wait outside, but it is worth it. You can find them on Starowiślna 10, but watch carefully, because when I was there last time, there was no sign.

6. Hummus Amamusi

People say that it’s the best hummus at the city. Even I haven’t tried it at much places, I’m agreeing with it totally. If you want to meet extremely nice people, who wants to host you as a real guest and try homemade hummus with fresh vegetables, go there. That place with great atmosphere you can find on Meiselsa 4!

7. Judah Square ad Bezogródek Food Truck Park

As I see up, I didn’t write a lot of REAL food trucks. So last point is dedicated to two places full of them. Judah Sqaure, with huge graffiti, is at Jewish Quarter (Kazimierz) on Wawrzyńca 16. What you can find there? Red English Double-Decker, sweet Chimney Cakes, Belgian Fries (best at Kraków I heard… ;) ), sushi, burgers served in Polish way (Andrus Food Truck), pancakes… At the second place, which is on the top of all my friends’ lists from last year, you have really big space for sitting and simple eating. I still haven’’t been there, but from opinions of my friends I can truly recommend it ;) What original they have? For example Thai Ice-creams! Go to Piastowska 20, check Bezogródek Food Truck Park and tell it how it was!
